About ASSURED Asset Protection
ASSURED Asset Protection was formed in 2001 by individuals who have a long history in
Fire Protection and
Safety Industries. Together the employees and principle owner brought with them over
80 years of combined municipal and industrial fire safety experience, specializing in
utility protection systems.
Shortly thereafter,
Assured expanded it’s coverage into
Physical Security systems and added employees with experience in
industrial Electronics and
Electrical Controls.
Assured’s biggest asset is a belief in what we do. With
Assured’s deep history in the municipal fire service we have seen first hand how effective protection systems can be and the importance of systems being properly maintained and serviced.
Bottom line, we provide our customers with reliable, state of the art protection systems in full compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Philip R. (Phil) Kaufman, CFPS
Partner/Operations Manager
Has a long history in Fire Protection and Safety including 25 years experience in industrial fire safety, retired as Supervisor of Fire Protection for major utility company. Also served 22 years on a metropolitan Fire Department before retiring as Assistant Chief – Operations. He holds a BS from Eastern Kentucky University with a minor in Fire Safety. He is accredited through the National Fire Protection Association as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist, licensed as an inspector by the State of Kentucky and Louisville Metro Government and is a member of numerous related Fire Protection and Security associations including the NFPA. Since forming Assured in 2001 has expanded his area of expertise into physical security and now represents several national brands for both Security and Fire Protection systems.
Vincent R. (Vince) Kaufman
Safety Manager / Technician
Joined Assured in 2008 after graduating college. He holds a BS in Fire Science Engineering Technology from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently perusing an MS in Emergency Management & Risk Safety. He is certified as a Fire Alarm technician level 1, and certified to teach OSHA 10 and 30 hour general industrial safety classes. He is a member of the NFPA, ASSE and ASIS.
Kenneth L. (Nick) Nichols
Senior Field Technician
After starting his career as a pipefitter with a construction unit for a major electrical utility company he transferred into their Fire Protection maintenance group where he inspected and maintained numerous fire suppression systems until retirement with 27+ years of service. He is licensed as an inspector by the State of Kentucky and Louisville Metro Government and is certified in testing Back-Flow preventers.
Jeffrey L. (Jeff) Forcht
Field Technician / Lead Electrician
After starting his career in a maintenance unit for a major electrical utility company he specialized in electrical controls and retired as (Electrical) Maintenance Supervisor with 30+ years of service. He holds a Master Electrician license and is licensed as an inspector by Louisville Metro Government.
Noah L. Bryant
Field Technician
After starting his career with the construction unit for a major electrical utility company where he was involved with the installation and maintenance of fire protection equipment he transferred into their Fire Protection maintenance group where he inspected and maintain numerous fire protection systems until retirement with 28+ years of service. He is licensed as an inspector by Louisville Metro Government. He has also served on a local metro fire department for 33 years where he has a strong background in training and is a certified by the state as an instructor.
Nathan (Nate) Kaufman
Nathan is a graduate of Trinity HS in Louisville, currently attending EKU'a College of Justice and Safety an workes as summer Co-op with Assured.
